It just happened that the conversion to Surcode DTS is part of the AudioMuxer Audio Conversion toolbox, since one of the underlying programs (eac3to) had that feature embedded in there. If one had some useful time to spend then I think it would be better to automate the newer tools made by DTS instead of the DTS Pro Series encoder. However, these newer tools seem to already have some kind of drag and drop functionality such that the time gained with automation would be quite marginal, but that's my personal opinion. |

me and others are talking right now in doom9 about eac3to and why some DTS encoders give dumb results. (if you're interested in more details read the end of page 494 until page 495 of eac3to thread in doom9 http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=125966&page=494 - start in post 9872) what really happens: Surcode put always 24 bits also when source wavs is 16 bits. eac3to always "patches" the demuxed DTS to "24-bits"...he put the bits, are 'not so real bits' if you know what i mean then we have mascarades results ( !?!?!? ) in the other side DTS Pro Encoder can really encode 24b, this is why i did my request(i got one guide few hours ago showing how to do that and Surcode is not capable, i need to test) i don't have good english to explain but eac3to could remove the 'bad binary' and the 'header' and 'footer' than do 24b 'repairs'. err... don't give high credits in my poor english, better read the pages in eac3to thread that i pointed. i still don't got definitive answer telling why my decoder show 24b in some dvds, the doubt remains...i'm really curious and want to know how to do that. the guide that i got few hours ago seems the answer...i'll try. and yes, DTS Pro sounds a little better than surcode even in 16b, again i confirm! cheers! |

I think that it is the same bug that was mentioned by hartr1. I will PM you a debug version and then we can go to the bottom of this. Thanks. |

Thank you for the debug report. It is a MediaInfo bug that was there before, and that was apparently corrected, but not 100% it seems. I will provide an updated AudioMuxer version with a workaround. Thanks again for your time in helping me to pin-point the problem. |

I have been using Audiomuxer to convert some Flac 5.1 files to AVCHD file structure for playing on PS3. I have successfully converted 2 sets of files (about 3 hours of music each), but a third set keeps giving me problems. I have successfully made the MKV output file, but I get an error about not being able to split streams when the AVCHD files are made. I have gone crazy trying to get these to work, and it seems really hit or miss. I was finally able to get all the songs encoded by first converting the FLAC to wav and then making three seprate AVCHD with tracks 1-10, 11-25, and then tracks 26-50. I tried again to make all the tracks as one AVCHD and again, the MKV file is made, but the AVCHD has an error. It looks like the playlist files are not generated for the AVCHD. Is there anyway to try to make the AVCHD from the MKV file without having to have Audiomuxer convert the files? |
