How could I verify that? I'm asking because DVD Audio Extractor claims it can only extract the 48kHz core of 96/24 DTS-ES and DTS-MA (though it doesn't mention 'plain' DTS 96/24) and when I extract my DTS 96/24 audio with it, that results in .dts filesizes that are the same as (or very close to) Audiomuxer's .dts output files. I assume 96kHz audio files should be larger than 48Khz. So, either DVDAE *is* extracting the core+extension, or neither of them are....or my assumption is wrong. |

As another experiment, I took the Audiomuxer rip (Output.split-001.dts) and ran Audio Conversion to Wav on it , selecting Extensible Wave Format but leaving other options at default, (i.e., bit rate: 24, resample to: 48000, both boxes unchecked). Resulting .wav filesize: 1,149,553 KB Then leaving all else same (Output.split-001.dts as input file again), I selected resample to: 96000 (box checked). Resulting .wav filesize was the same 1,149,553 Then using same input file, I explicitly set resample to 48000 again, (box checked) . Filesize is the same 1,149,553 Really puzzled as to what I'm seeing here....for one thing, I'd expect halving or doubling the sample rate for *any* conversion to change the filesize.... ? In addition, all three .wav files show as 48kHz, 24 bit in MediaInfo Just to make sure Audiomuxer is working, I used a standard CD track (44/16) .wav file as input-- setting bitrate at 16 bit but setting resampling to 96000 increased the file size by about 2.2X,as expected. |
